What is the Class "D" Security Officer Course and what are the requirements?
The Class “D” Security Officer Course is required for individuals who intend to become a Florida Licensed Unarmed Security Officer, Sutdents are required by chapter 493, Florida Statute, to successfully complete a 42 HOUR classroom course before they can apply for a Class D Unarmed Security Officer License (Florida Division of Licensing #DS3300014)
Course Requirements
- This course is in-person. There are no current options for online or hybrid delivery.
- Mandatory attendance for the 5 day course, Monday – Friday from 8:00am until 6:00pm.
- Students must achieve a passing score on two written tests.
What are the requirements for security licensing?
To obtain a Florida Security License, an applicant must:
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- be a citizen or legal resident alien of the United States or have been granted authority to work in this country by the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship and immigration services.
- Must successfully complete and show proof of completion of a minimum of 42 hours of professional training provided by a security officer school or training facility licensed by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
How much does the Class "D" Security Officer Course cost?
At Spytek Investigations & Training Academy our fee for the Class “D” Security Officer Course is $150, however, if payment is made on the day of reservation the fee is discounted to $125. If payment is NOT made on the day of reservation, payment is due on the first day of attendance in the form of a check or money order made out to “Spytek Investigations & Training Academy”
The fee includes all needed supplies for the course, no additional books or supplies will be required.
